Director of Operations

Job Class: Salary-Exempt Reports to: Regional Director of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Operations will lead the overall operational strategy, execution, and performance within the St. Louis Region. The incumbent will have substantial P&L responsibility and require extensive experience in managing and scaling field operations while strategically supporting the growth of local teams.

Financial Acumen

· Accountable for the financial performance of the St. Louis, MO Region, including revenue growth, cost management, and profitability.

· Monitor budget adherence, analyze financial data, and make data-driven decisions to achieve financial targets.

· Leverage forecasting and capacity models to ensure teams are Fully staffed and trained to achieve monthly and annual budgets.

· Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.

  • Collaborate with the team to develop and execute strategic plans for growth and expansion.

Leadership

  • Provide effective leadership to local team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Direct leadership of field operations, customer support, site administration and operations.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate field operations staff to ensure a high-performing and engaged workforce.
  • Supports expansion and leadership execution within the St. Louis Region.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Address customer concerns and issues promptly, striving to exceed customer expectations.
  • Establish policies that promote company culture, vision, and safety

  • Develop and implement strategic operational plans to achieve the company's goals and objectives.
  • Establish clear expectations, goals, and KPIs to drive individual and team performance
  • Continuously evaluate operational processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  • Provide valuable insights and recommendations to support the strategic growth of local teams and territories.

Execution Management

  • Ensure efficient execution of all field services, including irrigation Service & Installation, land maintenance, outdoor lighting, and fertilization, meeting quality and performance
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards governing field services operations.

  • Implement best practices and standardized processes to enhance operational effectiveness and resource utilization.
  • Develop & maintain training programs to assist in developing employees and scaling company, help keep the operations streamlined, successful and operating within budget.
  • Develop/Support Change Management Process including ongoing creation and support of operational SOPs for consistency of execution.

Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards governing field services operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (includes education, skills and experience):

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing operations at scale within the services industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing P&L for a business.
  • Extensive experience in the field services sector, route-based services or service-based industry.
  • Strong understanding of operational efficiency, performance metrics, and financial analysis.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Irrigation knowledge
